Legal
Privacy policy &
data practices.
Meridian is a private society. This page describes how we handle information on meridian-sf.com and through introduction requests. It is intentionally thorough. Last updated: 2026.
What we collect
When you submit the introduction request form, we collect the fields you provide: name, email, description of your work, referral source, links you choose to share, and free-text answers. We may also collect technical metadata typical of web requests (such as IP address, user agent, and approximate timestamp) as retained by our hosting environment or server logs, if applicable.
We do not operate public comments, forums, or social widgets on this site as of this writing. If that changes, this policy will be updated to describe additional categories of data. We do not intentionally collect information from children under 16; this site is not directed at minors.
How we use information
Introduction submissions are used to evaluate fit for Meridian membership and to respond to you if we choose to do so. We may use email to reply, to ask clarifying questions, or to decline politely. We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your submission to train third-party machine learning models.
Operational emails related to society business (if you become a member) may be sent separately under expectations explained at that time. Marketing blasts and newsletter-style mail are not the default mode of this organization.
Retention
We retain introduction requests for as long as necessary to evaluate candidacy, operate the society, comply with law, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Some records may be kept longer in archived form. If you wish to request deletion, see below; we will balance your request against legitimate interests and legal obligations.
Your choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain processing of personal data, or to object to processing. Meridian is small and operates largely in the United States. If you exercise a right, we may need to verify your identity. We will not discriminate against you for exercising applicable privacy rights.
If you are a member, some data may be necessary to maintain the directory and event operations; deletion may not be possible without ending membership.
Cookies & tracking
This static site may rely on minimal local storage (for example, theme preference) in your browser. We do not deploy advertising pixels or third-party analytics on this implementation as shipped. If analytics are added later, this section will name the vendor and the categories of data collected.
Privacy contact
For privacy-related inquiries, contact the founder at krrish@meridian.sf or use the routes described on the contact page. Please allow reasonable time for a response; Meridian is not a large institution.
Changes
We may revise this policy to reflect new practices, legal requirements, or site functionality. The updated version will replace the prior version on this page. Continued use after changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms, to the extent permitted by law.
Disclaimer
